Novan Management Team

Jacob Futro, President and Director

• Over five years experience in the solar and renewable energy industry.
• Successfully completed M & A of Colorado’s largest solar thermal company in 2007.
• Built a strong and comprehensive management team.
• Completed two rounds of financing for a total of $1.5 mm.
• Mr. Futro Graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy from Metro State College of Denver, in Colorado.

Kirk Norlin, Vice President of Marketing

• An original member of Novan Energy Inc., held the position of Advertising and Marketing Director from 1979 to 1985.
• Produced advertising and promotional materials for 500 distributors and dealers, as well as coordinated sales and marketing efforts for three retail locations.
• Since the original Novan, Norlin has held senior level marketing positions with successful start-up companies in Silicon Valley including Team One Systems, Inc., GDT-Nova Newspaper Systems, and helped Systems Integrators, Inc. grow to a $45 mm company. He also owns his own fine art gallery.
• Mr. Norlin graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in Journalism and Advertising.

Joel K. Prall, Vice President of Operations, Secretary

• From 1997 to 2005 worked for Sid Richardson Carbon and Energy in various roles, culminating with the position as Process Superintendent.
• Joel’s background in industrial plant management is extremely beneficial for Novan Solar Inc. solar thermal integrations, from working with engineers and developers, to making decisions that affect timing and efficiency.

Roger V. Johnson, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

• Worked for EAS, a nutritional supplement company, from 1997 to 2004, starting as an economist and eventually held the position of Senior Manager of Business Planning.
• While at EAS, Johnson was responsible for managing a $45.5 MM expense budget.
• Post-EAS, he worked for a health food start-up and also engaged in some consulting, specializing in enterprise valuations.
• Education includes a B.A. in Economics, a M.A. in Economics and a M.S in Finance from the University of Colorado.

James Lowe, Vice President, Sales Engineering

• Prior to Novan Solar Inc., held a position with Industrial Solar Technology as the lead technician and project manager.
• Currently serves on the board of directors for the Colorado Solar Energy Industry Association (COSEIA), chairman of the Colorado Solar Heating Policy Committee
• Education was completed at Appalachian State University with a B.A. in renewable energy implementation.
